Ha. Been almost a year since I made this post - and most of the issues still exist.
Add to that random pausing, incorrect reporting of transcoding status… Plex on Chromecast is a giant mess.
If there is anyone responsible for “Plex on Chromecast” (I wouldn’t be surprised if there isn’t one) how do they still have a job?

I had been patiently waiting for a fix to be able to use Plex with my chromecasts but this is beyond ridiculous. I just bought an android box and now have to switch it from tv to tv to watch my media but it still is 1000 times better than watching a video buffer every second.
Bye bye Plex, your careless attitude towards chromecast users put my money somewhere else.

Yes, there are a few remaining issues that are being looked into. Clearly this has already taken much longer than we would have liked, so I’m not going to try to offer a timeframe, but it is still being worked on.

Well when i selected transcoding modes to play via chromecast i see again it is playing through direct play with the audio and video and then why am i paying money to get this kind of service from you people, what kind of codes are these inspite of selecting the transcoding option it just avoids it and starts to direct play what F is this ? Stop fooling why is this lag still not fixed
