Hello,
I am currently running Plex Media Server (v1.43.0.10492) via Docker on Photon OS (6.1.10-10.ph5-esx), which is hosted on VMware Fusion (25H2) on an M4 Mac mini (macOS 15.7.4).
I fully understand that this virtualization setup introduces overhead and complexity. However, I have intentionally chosen this method for ease of backup, environment management, and personal preference.
I am aware that Sonic Analysis for Plexamp is typically unavailable on Linux ARM64 builds, and that native Apple Silicon (macOS) support is currently the sole exception. Naturally, this feature is disabled in my specific Linux-based PMS environment.
Given the exceptional CPU performance of the M4 chip, I believe the hardware resources are more than sufficient to handle the analysis workload if the software/binary barrier can be bypassed.
Is there any known workaround to “force-enable” or trick PMS into running Sonic Analysis in an ARM64 Docker environment on Apple Silicon hardware?
Thank you!
