Enabling subtitles on Live TV displays error

Enabling subtitles on Live TV causes the live TV stream to stop, displaying an error message: “Playback Error - This live TV session has ended.” This issue has been tested across multiple channels, with screenshots specifically captured from ABC TV Melbourne’s live stream. However, the problem occurs consistently across all channels. The testing was conducted on two different devices: macOS (MacBook Air) and Shield Android TV.

Would really love to see DVB teletext fixed. No TV subs have been bugging me for a long time in Plex.

Worked on HDHomeRun app couple weeks back but never on Plex even though the teletext subtitles started appearing as an option a few months ago.

Have that DVB subs option for at least a year for me (I’m on beta, is that why?). Be good if Plex team can fix this for Australian members.

yours could work perhaps due to using ATSC standard vs DVB-T - lets hope Plex devs can figure it out.

I’m in Perth Western Australia so yeah still using TT subs. To be honest FTA shouldn’t be using teletext subs in this day and age but it’s the quality we have here. And it’s kind of understandable why this isn’t fixed as it’s unique to Australia (probably a tiny market for them).

We can’t be the only ones using DVB-T with teletext but let’s hope someone sees it.
