I very much appreciate your reply! Honestly I was freakin! I FINALLY found a system which works easily with my PC and my digital library without having to set up Posters and Backgrounds and other such nonsense… As long as the media files are named correctly, You just dump them into a specific directory and BAM! Streaming “Youtube Type service” but all your own! I LOVE IT!
This service has made my life of hell, MUCH more bearable! Movies to stream while waiting
endlessly for my next doc appointment, resting at physical therapy, peddling away endlessly on a fixed therapy bike and when I am traveling in the US. Paying a few dollars extra on my mobile bill was worth every penny, when I was able to stream my own Film and Series collection, whenever and wherever ! wanted to!
Until Plex, I stared at the wall or tried to ignore whatever fluff was playing at the doc offices tiny TV during my visit… Jerry Springer Again! Damn I’ve already seen this one!
LOL! I’m Totally Kidding!
Daytime television is for the brain dead… Sorry Jerry Springer Fans! lol!
I say that with no malice in mind as I was brain dead after a brain injury via car wreck nearly killed me, many years ago. Left me paralyzed and with 5 second memory… As such, I am forced to watch the same movie 5 or 6 times in a row, pretty much uninterrupted, before I was able to remember enough of the details to make sense of what was happening!
I was in HELL!
My point is, Plex gave me purpose and has kept me busy! I’ve been ripping my own DVD collection for… Maybe three years now, and still going, finally having found the perfect streaming service from my PC to my Roku, TV, XBox, My Droid etc. I was finally starting to feel a little more normal in my new life of partial paralysis and 5 second memory, as I sit in the long dead-boring doc and PT appointment which are such a huge part of my bland life. lol!
Thank you, Developers, Plex Staff and employees for keeping my dream alive and for producing an excellent simple and awesome product! It does EXACTLY what I need it to do and honestly, not a day goes by where I am not streaming another movie I’ve already seen 5 or 6 times! Damn memory issue is the WORST!
I’ve also begun streaming a few of the available channels! Cheddar, Fail Army etc. Fun and entertaining! My apologies for not picking up right after I posted here… As I said, I forgot I ever wrote this, until I found it today, trying to find a fix for the latest Server HTTPS update. My server is down until I work that out. Probably my router but I’ve already gone through the posted “fixes” to no avail… Any other ideas aside from Plex settings? They are all set properly I am sure. I followed the posted directions exactly. Oh lol… not sure this is the proper place to ask about the HTTPS update? Please forgive me, I’m a total newb with literally 5 second memory…
Kind of like a fish I guess?!! lol!
