Current implementation of photos section is little bit basic. Especially for large libraries (+5000 pictures) We can only sort/browse photos based on date (file system dates not the picture taken date etc) or name. It would be very useful if it can be upgraded to full feature picture library manager. I'm kindly asking for following first steps:
- Browse library based on JPEG tags (or "keywords" in MacOS or Picasa terminology) and picture taken date
- Browse library based on technical details. Camera brand, model, lens model, ISO, Exposure time etc.
This way we can get answers for questions like this: "Where are the photos that taken with Tamron AF 18-270 of kids in last vacation?"
I think you may need to build some kind of SQLite Database for faster search/browse.
Next steps Geotag support and face recognition
Thanks
After 4 years looks like now we have a complete solution. Congrats!
Edit: not happy with the current tag implementation. I don’t know why this is so hard to implement support for builtin jpg tags
Agree - Photo Meta data is universally well defined, know - there for a reason - all the energy spend repopulating it when starting with using what was there would be far more valuable…
