Right now, photo search completely ignores meta data such as keywords. Having a well-tagged photo library, this renders the Plex photo solution almost useless. The search only looks in files and folder names.
I understand the photo library is much less popular than the one for movies, but there is so much room for improvement there.
I have 60,000 photos with lots of meta data (dates, people, places, events etc.). It would be really nice if Plex allowed me to view my photos by any of the meta data tags or a combination of multiple tags that are already in my photos…
I agree wholeheartedly. I’m looking for a way to not just view my photo catalog, but search by date and/or location or other metadata. The video and photo viewing is great, but search needs work.
