Enhanced Playback Controls with Clickable Progress Bar in Minimized View (Desktop)

Feature Request

I’d like to request a feature that allows users to click directly on the progress bar to skip to a specific point in the track on Plexamp, along with adding more playback controls such as volume control when a song is minimized. This would make it more intuitive and efficient to control music playback, similar to many other music apps.

Detailed Explanation

Currently, Plexamp only allows the use of the forward or backward buttons to jump between songs, but there’s no option to click on the progress bar to seek within a track. In addition, it lacks more comprehensive playback controls like a volume slider that could make listening more user-friendly.

Being able to:

  • Click on any point on the progress bar to skip ahead or rewind
  • Have a volume control easily accessible near the playback controls
  • Have shuffle and repeat controls accessible near the playback controls

Suggested Implementation

  • Clicking anywhere on the progress bar should instantly jump the track to that point.
  • The progress bar with a draggable “ball” would only appear on hover for a cleaner look.
  • Add a volume slider near the playback controls.
  • Add shuffle and repeat buttons near the playback controls.
