Hi to the team,
Thanks a lot for the great app, it’s starting to replace foobar for me for my daily music listening. I have some gripes with the UI on Windows 11 though, some already written about in previous posts. Since it’s an adaptation of the mobile UI, it lacks some features I’m used to on Windows.
The first ones is the lack of taskbar media controls. When you point the taskbar icon, usually, media apps present some controls (play/pause, previous, next…) under the thumbnail. Is it possible to add it?
The second one, already mentioned, is the absence of title bar controls. I understand Plexamp cherishes its unique UI, but there’s room for them alongside the Chromecast button, it would really help. In the same way, the contextual menu could be removed in favor of buttons in the UI, for example to get a one-click access to lyrics in the player.
The third one is the lack of a wide UI mode. Right now, the UI is designed for a single column vertical use. It would be great to get a filtered view of the library (artists on the left, then filtered albums on the right for example, or genre then artists/albums…) when there’s room for it. On the player, having the current playlist displayed alongside the controls and cover would also be useful, for example. In general, I’d be happy to avoid the long single columns we currently have on a lot of screens.
The fourth one is the lack of a good way to minimize the player to get back to the library. The arrow isn’t a clear button on PC, it’s lost in the UI. Placing in on top of the player or keeping the lower menu (home/search/library…) displayed would really help imho.
The fifth (and last one) is the library grid, which only has two size settings buried in the menus. I’d be happy to have a size slider and a more reactive UI, since the grid often has problem displaying the entries when scrolling, in particular back up.
That’s everything I have in mind. Thanks a lot for reading it
