Iāve done a fair amount of reverse engineering of Plex while auditing it for security, so Iād say Iām relatively familiar with its architecture, and somewhat familiar with its code. I stand by my original statement.

Disagree all you want, but it doesnāt change the fact that family users are second class citizens in the world of Plex.
Thatās more an opinion than a fact, but I donāt think weāre going to accomplish anything here, so youāll just need to be patient until the enhanced player is ready for everyone.

we need enhanced player for all users simply bc plex on appleTV is essentially broken without the enhanced player. (im sick of giving out my personal account to friends bc i have plex plass, and wo the enhanced player, plex on apple tv just does not work).
I have a few friends that thought plex was only SD streaming (ie not HD, ever) , bc the stock player is just horrible at picking bit-rates. (then if they turn on auto adjust, the bit-rate gets correct, but you cant seek at all). Of course enhanced player works just perfectly though.
Have you got some logs or samples where itās broken on the stock AVPlayer? We test on both Enhanced Player and AVPlayer, so would be interested to see some logs where it isnāt working.
To be clear, playback should still work with the regular player. The enhanced player just allows more videos to play without needing to be transcoded. If videos are not working with the regular player, there may be an issue with your PMS where the transcodes are not working.

Users also need to make sure their Plex app video settings are appropriate for the video, you Internet speed and theirsā¦
