I have a custom TV show library setup for youtube videos I downloaded with “Personal Media Shows” agent selected for them. I added in the dates for all episodes manually and they were fine for years. Now suddenly all of them are wrong, each now shows one day earlier than the date I manually entered at the time. I added a new episode yesterday and it won’t take the date at all, it keeps reverting to “1969-12-31” which is absolutely ludicrous!
If I edit it and lock the field it won’t save, it keeps reverting to that date. I went back on some of my other episodes where the dates were moved backward by one day, once I edited them it won’t save. It changed it to “1969-12-31” as well and now I can’t change it to any other date because it’s stuck. The bottom line is everything was fine previously, but as usual one of your miraculous Plex Updates has screwed everything up. I want this issue fixed immediately, it is completely unacceptable. Right now I can’t edit any dates without it reverting to “1969-12-31”.
And by the way, once Plex does fix this it’ still a major inconvenience because I will have to go back and manually edit hundreds of episodes to put back the correct date! So I want to give a big thank you to the Plex programmers who don’t properly test updates before they push them out, maybe that would be a good idea next time!
Yeah, it has been discussed here (and in many other threads):
It was confirmed that new edits will be working with the upcoming 1.26.1 version of PMS, they will stop automatically changing to “1969-12-31”. But no words if the issue about already edited dates moving backward by one day will be fixed.
This is a huge problem for me too. I modified the date on a lot of music albums, movies and TV shows. And I don’t have a list to find them and correct everything later…
Thanks for replying. Luckily for me I do have a document saved with all of the correct air dates. So if the bug is fixed I can go back and fix them all. But it will be long tedious work editing one episode at a time having to copy and paste in every single correct date. It absolutely blows my mind that something as stupid and ridiculous like this error could ever happen. This is going to screw up library information for so many people and potentially cause dozens of hours for everyone to edit manually and fix if the original dates are not restored.
This makes me not even want to update anymore because who knows what the next major screwup and annoyance will be in the next botched update! Right now I see it’s been at least 11 days since this bug was first reported and nothing has been fixed so far. It’s not very reassuring to know it’s been that long with no results at all, who knows how many weeks this is going to take before it’s actually fixed.
I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED in Plex for not properly testing this update before releasing it. Shame on the them! Plex has to do much better in further updates.
I just found this by adding media to my personal media library. It’s going to be a disaster if it’s going though my whole library automatically changing previously locked fields.
If it’s also doing it in regular Movies, Music, TV, etc, I mean, at some point this paid license is going to feel like a rip off.
The ‘Locked Fields’ are a total joke when they can be changed automatically by bad updates to the server. The next update had better restore everything to the way it was, because forcing us to fix everything manually is completely unfair on the part of programmers who screwed this up in the first place.
The more I PLEX, the more locked fields seem like a myth…
I primarily watch via the sony Playstation consoles so I don’t really have a better alternate than plex. the near constant issues for media libraries that never resolve, yet added things like searching streaming options that I will never use keep getting added. It’s really frustrating.
