I was not able to reproduce the error with the sample file.

Though, I got the same error from another movie.

Here’s the logs.

Error happens at 17:35.

It’s happens with many differents files I noticed…

I will pass the logs to the development team but it is very possible that they will need an actual video file / a clip that gives rise to this

Thanks for the fast response.

It is hard to do this since I’ve noticed that the error happens randomly.
It might be possible to reproduce the error on a sample file, but if I play this sample file twice, I may not get the error each time.

That’s why last time I gave you the sample file, when I got the error at a specific time, I ripped the sample file to cover that specific time on the video. However, if I play that sample file now, no error comes up. Maybe if I play it many times.

Is there sometimes else I could send to you?

Thanks @nbaprofo for trying. Yes - it was said before that this error is not specific to a file or set of files. I was just hoping there may be one that shows up the issue consistently

You can delete the transcoder logging setting and no need for verbose logging for the server

The development team have now what was requested - so would need to wait for outcome of looking into the logs

The 2nd is verbose logging. So keep debug logging enabled - this is the default

Same error here with the latest plex server v1.9.7.4460-a39b25852 and all other old versions.

I have a bb2 pro android tv box and the latest version of the client. It is also appearing on my lg g7 phone with the latest android client version.

Do you have some news for us? I have the same error and it happends 10 to 15 times on every movies.

When my video file only contain one language it works without crashing.

@nbaprofo do you have two languages in your video files?

Which same error ? Transcoder errors arise for different underlying reasons.

I would need to see logs from your server to confirm it is the underlying errors as seen in the logs from nbaprofo

and if it is to do with two audio languages then that would be useful bit of information and logs and sample / clip would be good to have

today it was crashing on every videos. I will stop investigate this issue. I have installed Emby today and i’m switching to it.
I’m now a paying customer of emby.

Plex team are developping new features and forget to resolve basic transcoding issues. We need a basic product that can play videos without crashing. please focus on that and develop new features after that.

Have you tried emby? All my videos âtre working Well and it is very fast.

lol this is too funny. Much respect to sa2000 for trying to help but a change was made that has affected tons of users yet we still act like it is a case by case thing. Something was changed that messed up tons of people all at once.

We have half a dozen users getting a transcoder failure after logging these errors

ERROR - [Transcoder] [stream_segment,ssegment @ 057b92e0] Failed to open segment list
ERROR - [Transcoder] av_interleaved_write_frame(): Unknown error

This is with the development team and we have the diagnostics requested by development

I would be interested in seeing logs from more users to see if this is more widespread than has been seen

There are lots of reasons for a transcode to fail and each case needs to be looked into.

I’m posting to say that the problem persists even with newer version 1.10.0.4516.

Is the development team has been working on this problem or not yet?
