I have a VPS with plex media server installed Ubuntu 18.04 (2 SAMBA servers attached through CIFS) and i am using my Windows 10 PC in home to watch movies. after the recent update i am getting the above error in the app .Pretty sure all mounted properly. can someone help me to sort it out.

If you know the file is there, what could be blocking Plex from seeing it?
“Permissions” are the most common thing that get changed and are often by accident or incidental by a 3rd party program,
Look at the mediainfo for the item
Look at the path name.
From the VPS perspective, trace that path.
One thing which is common for VPS system out there – their i/o to another site is limited by an API (number of hits/hour or hits/day)
Rclone is a common violator of this for google drive.
Run down that path.
IF the media is on the VPS itself, your job is easier
