Español (Latinoamérica) subtitle language defaults back to Abkhazian

Whenever setting the option to prefer subtitles in “Español (Latinoamérica)”, Plex Media Server saves the setting, but when i go back to check it has changed to Abkhazian automatically.

It works with “Español” just fine, and even if i select the language manually for each episode “Español (Latinoamérica)” works. It only fails this way when setting the default subtitle language under Server - Settings - Language.

I suspect the tilde “é” has something to do with the problem.

Thanks for the quick reply. I have a couple of follow up questions

  • I don’t see latinamerican spanish as an option on that list. It’d be cool if it was be added later on.

  • Also i fail to see the point of having a “per server” language setting if it can’t be used, the only settings that matter are those of the whole account?

This is only used if the server is NOT signed into a Plex account. i.e. a rather rare use case

I’m sorry to go back to this but it works for other languages, only fails with “Español (Latinoamérica)”. I tried with french and worked. All this at server settings level (not account)

I insist there is something wrong with the code itself, maybe the tilde (é) or that language is not on a list within the code. I lack the knowledge to to deeper into this but i think i explained myself.

I have the same problem with the French Canadian laguage.

I think the problem occur when the value (in html code) of the chosen language have more than two chars as in :

<option value="en-GB">English (UK)</option> 
<option value="es-419">Español (Latinoamérica)</option>  
<option value="fr-CA">Français Canadien</option>   
<option value="pt-BR">Português Brasileiro</option>
<option value="zh-TW">臺語</option>

I also noticed this (“fr-” instead of “fr-CA”) in the messages sent or received on the click of the save button :
