I can understand the need to make money to stay a float. Understood.
Forcing a once trusted and wonderful system to be upgraded in a way that gives users less choice, locks them in more and screws them is a fairly evil practice on par with the Windows 10 forced telemetry, auto installation of unwanted apps, unknown data being sent out from your machine, watching everything you do (I’m sure I missed a few)
Plex upgrades have been cursed with downgrades for the user and forcing them in to a box with less features.
Plex is a good product, but greed has taken a hold and the path is similar to the stand tech company practice of controlling/watching you, profiting from you getting less.
Plex used to allow you to use your local plex server without signing in to Plex. There are privacy issues and it’s fine if you want to use their service.
For those of us with no land internet, this is an evil move.
