Hello,

I have no idea if this has been suggested before but I would LOVE to see a Export/Import feature for the server so as migration from one computer to another or one OS platform to another can be seamless and not as frustrating as I am finding it.

Depending on the specific use case you’re aiming for, there’s already a number of existing feature suggestions asking for that kind of functionality:

I suggest a simple solution to moving your library to a new machine. I don’t understand why it has to be so difficult. Plex needs an option for users to easily bundle their necessary files and then install them on the new machine. I’ve tried multiple times with multiple machines and never had any luck moving my server to a new machine without having to build my metadata back up from scratch. Easy Import / Export Move state

I know there a way to to transfer move states https://support.plex.tv/articles/201154527-move-viewstate-ratings-from-one-install-to-another/ But I for life of me can not figure out how to do it on FreeNAS according to this right up. I would LOVE to have a simple option in the setting menu to save locally on my desktop and then browse to that file and restore once reinstalled. Or possibly some kind of cloud back up for us Plex Pass folks! Thanks!

In addition – have a look at this thread → Corrupt Database - Transferring User Information where I (and some other community members) included a process to import/export. It has some limitations (custom edited fields, music playlists to name a few) but for the most part works.
