There currently doesn't seem to be a way for plugins to add options the menus/context menus of library items and collections (if there is a way, please point me to it). I'd like to see the API extended so plugins can add options to library context (and other) menus.
Some examples of plugins would include, but not be limited to:
- Trailers: If the plugin recognizes that a trailer is available, it could add a "view trailer" option.
- Subtitles: A plugin could add a "find subtitles for this title" option.
- Mark as bad recording: If a 3rd party PVR or similar app recognizes that it added/owns this item, you could mark it to be re-recorded.
- Record / do not record series: If a 3rd party PVR recognizes that it is recording this series, add an option to stop recording future airings -- or the inverse.
- Insert your idea here
It would be nice for some of us to just add features like these ourselves rather than begging for implementation.
