Hello, I am looking like saying a plex to go get the movies of a category on a disctant server. Can you help me?
Have you considered using the download option in the Plex for Mac/Windows desktop client?
I’m not talking about the client, I’m looking to make plex pick up my movies on a file server and not on the server itself.

Are you trying to mount some remote storage (file server) and point your Plex libraries to folders on that share?

Yes, that’s what I’m trying to do, I have a Freebox with movies on it and I would like plex to look for them on the hard drive of this freebox.
I take it there’s a number of options.
e.g. exposing the files through e.g. SMB, mounting that SMB drive locally on your server and pointing to it; using rclone to create the mount while maintaining some additional overhead on how the files are made available.

I have activated the smb but I do not know how to access it from plex
You need to mount it on your server’s file system.
