Extras folder

@Benjorman said:
Why is Plex so ungodly bad at recognizing and supporting extras? I’ve tried virtually everything I can find on the net and still can’t get extras recognized. If I have to do the “PLEX dance” one more time I’m going to scream.

Just let me create a damned “Extras” folder, and trust that everything inside it is an extra associated with the film in the master folder.

You’ll have much better results if you stop fighting Plex and just do what it wants:
https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/200220677-Local-Media-Assets-Movies

Inline:
A Movie Library/
…Movie Name (YEAR)/
…Movie Name (YEAR).xxx
…Descriptive Name1-behindthescenes.xxx <— case sensitive - do NOT capitalize the tag
…Descriptive Name2-interview.xxx <— case sensitive - do NOT capitalize the tag

In A Sub Folder:
A Movie Library/
…Movie Name (YEAR)/
…Movie Name (YEAR).xxx
…Behind The Scenes/
…Descriptive Name1.xxx
…Descriptive Name2.xxx
…Interviews/
…Descriptive Name1.xxx
…Descriptive Name2.xxx

Then Plex Dance® (just to make sure you’re doing it right):

The Plex Dance®:

  1. remove show/movie from library
  2. update library
  3. empty trash
  4. clean bundles
https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/200392106-Library-Actions <— update library, empty trash, clean bundles
  5. bring names and structures into compliance/ or the ultimate bundle reboot operation
  6. replace corrected show/movie into library
  7. update library

All Steps. In Order. No Shortcuts.

Also noteworthy:
DO NOT put other versions into this movie folder.
If you have other versions remove them - place this folder with the extras first - then add your other versions outside this folder in the main movie library or in folders of their own - unless you want to have Disappearing Extras Syndrome - that WILL make you crazy. That’s what happened to me.
