Fanart possible?

Nice progress. Now just waiting patiently…awesome job, guys

here is my setting

  {{IMAGEURL(Video/art::2000)}}

The Plex transcode won't increase the size of an image and most fan art is either 1280 or 1920 wide, so trying to transcode up to 2000 pixels is pointless.

this is just the movie preplay.. looking on the the shows now, waiting to hear back from roidy..

its thanks to taller, he figured out mostly of it :)

Here you go:- http://www61.zippyshare.com/v/86250481/file.html

This is set up for a 1080p screen resolution and fanart resolution, use the following:-

{{IMAGEURL(art::1280)}}

For 720p fan art on a 1080p resolution screen, which gives better results if you have mixed 720p/1080p fanart.

Here's the season list version:- http://www55.zippyshare.com/v/73140072/file.html

roidy/ibaa,

Are you planning on integrating this into the mainline PlexConnect?

Weird. Unfortunately Im just getting Trailers is not available, even with the given xml files from roidy

This only works on firmware version 6 and above :(

roidy/ibaa,

I'd like to, but there are still a few issues to iron out.

ah sure.. I forgot.. Ok I gotta wait then I guess :) Still waiting for a fix for the Dolby Digital bug

I'd like to, but there are still a few issues to iron out.

If it's anything I could help with I'd be happy to pitch in

And with an option to turn background images off?

This is honestly probably the last concern but this might work for autocoloring the text on the movies:

I'm not sure if anyone other then maybe roidy is experienced here, but does anyone know how apple sets the background color? If you look at the Movies they have images that don't fit, they then position them left or right or center, and fill the sides with a background color, if we can figure that out we might be able to just alter the opacity of the image through the XML as well.

At the moment the background art isn't ever run through the python, it comes straight from PMS so unless we changed that there wouldn't be a chance to pull out the dominant colors.

Do you have some examples of images that are repositioned?

I figured that, it'd probably require a bit of code tweaks but as far as the images from Apple:

Man of Steel is positioned right on 1080p,

We're the Millers is positioned center,

2 Guns is definitely too small of an images position centered and fades to black

I could be wrong and the people over at Apple aren't very good at Photoshop. I'm not sure.

Here's the image for 2 Guns

And the one for Man of Steal

They're all the full width of the screen

I noticed that the Movie title + studio do not show up although its defined in the xml:

{{VAL(Video/title)}} ({{VAL(Video/year)}})
      {{VAL(Video/studio)}}
looking at stoffez's screenshots; on one title shows up, but here no title.

The one with the title is from the jailbroken Plex app as opposed to from PlexConnect

The first picture is from a jailbroken ATV2 in the Plex app.. the second one is from the Plexconnect interface

the movie will replace the title.. its a know issue/bug

ah too bad.

I am working on a script that actually changes all my fanart (queries database and then copies/renames to movietitle-fanart.jpg in proper path and resizes it to 1920x1080 + crop) and makes it darker with a gradient.

I could actually use a predominate color as well for coloring. Next step then would be to render the title in the background if it can't be done via the xml.

You can actually change the layout of the

This is the default one we use, however when using background art you lose the title and studio:-

Gotta say… I like the full more… I rather se actors and resolution… Even though i have the actors on the botton aswell (using the bottomshelf code already implemented but disabled) my higest wish would be to se simular movies like itunes works

Losing the time and rating is probably the biggest downside for me.

You can actually just about fit in one column for the Details :)

Also in compact view you don't need the "More" button, pressing down on the remote works with out a bottom shelf, so that frees up some more room :)
