Fanart Windows App vs Web.

Hi,

So, I have fanart on a lot of my videos. While I think I prefer the web based player for Plex, I find that windows displays fanart so much better with the faded background. Even on my phone, fan art appears better as the web app seems to not center the art, so, it appears cut offed.

Is their anything I can do? Is it because the fanart is not at the right resolution? (For the web browser one.)

MIke

You should be using Plex Media Player: Top of Forum/Downloads/Get an App
The Browser Player (Plexweb) is seriously compromised ('cause it’s in your browser) and PMP is much more capable.

The Windows Store App is poopie.

Augment your post after you make sure what you’re using, or start using PMP. If you still see abnormal behavior let us know.

Thanks for that. I, for some reason, never realized that Plex had a dedicated media player. Definitely a step up from the browser. Though, my fan art still doesn’t look right. Is their a way to make it look like it’s not cropped? I have a full image, but, it cuts the bottom quarter off. Perhaps my resolution is off??

The fanart appears to be fine when I’m on the home screen, but, when I go into the actual movie, it’s cropped.

I’m almost sure it is your resolutions.

I’m a contributing member of TMDB and TVDB.
TMDB requires 1000x1500
TVDB requires 680x1000

Can’t recall exactly what ratio that is - I just let Gimp deal with it and provide what they want.
If I’m going quick and filthy for an ‘unmatchable’ I’ll do a quick google and pick one that ‘looks about right’. Sometimes they’re fine and sometimes they have a little hair around the edges.

Thanks, I’ll play around with it. It looks fine on the home screen, just when you go into the actually movie folder… The one thing with the windows app is I do like how it appears visually, with the fanart taking up the whole screen and faded in the background…
