It would be great if you could implement this function in Plex.
One possibility would be to use the up and down arrows to switch to the next/previous song and use the left and right arrow to fast forward and backward (or just jump a few seconds forward/back in the track).

no Luck so far for the 0.9.2.3 build. Here’s hope that this will arrive in one of the follow-up incrementals to the 0.9.2 releases.

0.9.2.5 let’s me skip my music. 2x 4x 8x 16x 32x here we come. Just FYI since I had some issues at first: If you want to toggle from e.g. 4x to 8x skipping then do a long press on your apple remote. Not too long since that will make the skip speeds go around in circles (which doesn’t make too much sense imo - room for improvement) and not too short since that would take you to the next track.

@poop: yes, I wrote the reply then though “oh wait, that must have been the plex music section”. Then rechecked 2 times and just rechecked yet another time and it’s working for me on the iTunes section as well. I’m using the apple remote. Hm, where could our setups be differing? You see my specs in the signature and as a skin I use Retroplex. So I assure you it’s working.
UPDATE: I just updated to the latest Retroplex Skin update via Preen and now this is no longer working in the iTunes section

With the default Mediastream-Skin I’m still not able to fast forward… I’m using a Harmony Remote and (mostly) the apple keyboard 
i have some flacs in my music library with which FFing works. i added them manually in the library, they are under music plugins. but it won’t/never used to work with the itunes library.
yes, elan said so on twitter as well. But I swear it worked for this little period of time today until I updated Retroplex. Should have made a movie to provide proof.
Oh and weirdest thing: It worked quite well. Now that’s odd. And no, I’m not on drugs. You know Tuesday is my drug-free day of the week.

What’s the state of this? Can we get any official response? elan said, it’s not supported yet, then again it’s working and the above posted video is proof. But it’s not working for 7thson e.g.

This is a feature request, and it might happen, or not
The reason why it might have worked in RetroPlex before is that it might be a skin specific thing. So ask Se.bastian if he has changed anything in that area.
I asked Se.Bastian about this, since I still don’t understand why it’s working now and wasn’t before and he said he changed nothing concerning any code related to skipping. Since this is getting stranger the more I try to understand what is happening, I tested this again with the Mediastream Plex skin and it’s no difference.
I played some more with this and noticed the status of this (maybe someone else can elaborate?). What I found out is .m4v (AAC) is skippable while MP3 is not. That’s the whole story.
I don’t have any aac’s in my library, just mp3…
Yep, and that is why it doesn't work now. Maybe the devs will implement this in the future now that you have started this thread in the "Feature Request" subforum. Cross your fingers.
well i certainly hope that “Being able to ff/rw your music” is more than a “maybe” or “some day” in a competitive media player world
Behavior in 0.9.5.0 is the same. AACs FF/Rewind just fine with F and R buttons, but not so much the MP3s. I wasn’t able to find neither a key on my keyboard that does this nor do the arrow keys from the iOS plex remote do anything.
EDIT: yes 7thSon, I had to edit my post, since I realized it was just an AAC (and those where working before). Consider heading to the chat and raise your voice? Maybe we can convince the team to consider adding this?
