Favorite movies: pin movies that are favorites for easy play access

This is a no brainer. I want to be able to pin a favorite movie or six on the Home Screen so I can easily play the movies my kid watches all the time. Right now I have to use playlists to accomplish this, which is stupid. Just add favorites.

You can make a collection called favorites or whatever you want to call it and publish it to be visible on the home screen and add whatever movies you want to it.

I didn’t know that was a thing, and I appreciate the suggestion. However, it would be WAY more convenient if I could just select a movie in the Roku player app and click a star to favorite it and have it appear on the Home Screen. There’s all the recently added, recently aired, etc. Why not just add a Favorites bar as well? I really don’t get why this doesn’t exist. Damn near every app in existence has the ability to pin favorites of something. Even iOS lets you pin Messages now. Collections requires editing individual entries on the desktop app, and then removing them is a whole process. Honestly, it’s way more convoluted, and not at all a better option.

I’ve personally never needed it and not sure how many times it has even been asked for. because most folks are fine with playlists (which I don’t personally use either)

We are adding rating stars to the details pages soonish in all player apps, and when that happens you could create a smart collection of everything rated G (if that is what your kids watch) and 5 stars and as you rate things from whatever app it would get automatically added to collection.

I’m not saying what you want won’t happen.

A smart list would be cool, but not the same. Literally a favorites bar would be best. In the meantime I added a bunch to a collection.

In addition to what you’ve been discussing here… there’s already two existing feature suggestion threads covering this scope. I suggest you comment/vote in those threads in order to avoid distracting or cannibalizing votes.

Unless I’m missing some unique aspect of your suggestion, I’ll close this thread as a duplicate.

Thank you. I voted for those.
