Favorites (Kinda) Be able to hide TV Series your not interested in

Add a Not Interested to the TV Series. I have a bunch of TV Series and not everyone likes all of them. Having a great big PLEX PASS you get multiple users. So I have some for the kids and grandchildren. With all the different interest, there is stuff my wife doesn’t like that the kids do and vise a versa. I tried making folders for the kids stuff and the wife stuff but then ran into problems when 2 or 3 people like something. Also with having over 80 different series how do I know what they will like and don’t. I noticed my wife uses the UNWATCHED button the most. When she does, all the shows she doesn’t like are mixed in with the ones she does (Real House Wives…). I was thinking if there was a way of putting a “dislike or Not Interested” on a series she wouldn’t see that series when selecting unwatched.

When you hit TV Series you can select show by ALL or UNWATCHED. Selecting ALL would still show ALL. Selecting UNWATCHED would only show the TV shows that you haven’t watched that you like, filtering out the ones you have pressed the “DISLIKE or Not Interested” button. This way if a new series is added and one user watches part of it and doesn’t like it they don’t have to see it in there UNWATCHED.

As it stands right now when we sit down to watch something we have to look through all the shows and orange circles to see what is available that we are interested in. It would really neaten things up and ease the search.

I guess you could go through the ones you don’t like and mark them as watched but that would really suck and hard to get everyone to do. And when Sonarr added another episode it would show up. Then you would have to mark it as watched also.

I’m no coder but I would think it could be either…

  1. Add a not interest in the medadata…
  2. Automatically mark the NOT Interested on all shows in that series as watched along with future show in that series.

I believe the first would be best. In the second, what if I watched 2 or 3 episodes and decided I didn’t care to much for it. I could mark it not interested. Then later down the road if I decided to give it another go I could unmark it and pickup where I left off.

I like this idea. I have several users with quite different tastes. I have received comments about how difficult it is to navigate all the tv shows. And especially if you have “up to date” with all your favorite shows, then they still have to browse through all the other shows.

I guess this is somewhat covered by the “On deck” feature but it does not quite cover this feature.
