Feature - Plex Media Server - queue caching

I think it would be great if PMS could automatically download/cache new unwatched videos added to my queue.

At times it is nearly impossible to pick a video from my queue and select 1080p and stream it. Sometimes due to the CDN, sometimes due to bandwidth.

If my media server could automatically download videos added to the queue (to a specified directory / section) then I could wait for it to download before I watch it to ensure I won't have to wait for it to buffer. And of course it would be helpful if I want to rewatch it, it is already downloaded (i.e. don't automatically delete the videos).

I would love this feature as well. I was able to get a large buffer by forcing plex to do transcoding, and setting the transcoder buffer to like 3000 seconds. But this is flawed - you need to start the video and pause it for the buffering to start - and then remember to come back in time before the app times out and goes back to the title screen.

I would love a feature where particularly youtube/hulu videos would start buffering the instant you add them to the queue, maybe even at a configurable bitrate, say 500kbit/s, one video at a time. I don't mind that I have to wait a while to watch the video.

I'm surprised this topic has not received more likes. Maybe it just needs to be bumped to the top more.
