3D / 2D VR capability on Mobile Apps. With the increasing popularity of VR headsets for mobile. VR built in Plex mobile apps would be nice. With VR you could watch 3D VR or 2D in a cinema mode (Like your own personal movie theater)
A basic “Convert to SBS” Playback mode would make me happy, I don’t need the “full VR experience” on my phone (leave that to the dedicated hardware, IMO) but a basic SBS playback feature with bluetooth remote support would be perfect for Android, iPhone, and Vision Pro.
Now that the Galaxy XR headset is shipping, it would behoove Plex to support the playback of 3D MKV titles on the device (along with the Apple Vision Pro). This should be a relatively simple process as the Android Plex app already works fine, it just simply needs to decode the SBS file into two separate images, one for each eye. This could indeed make Plex the default “must have” app for the device as it would open a world of 3d content to the new hardware. I would even suggest that it is a Premium Only feature which requires a Plex Pass to use. Please consider it.
