I would like to see 3D movies SBS with SRT subtitles on Plex.
3D LG televisions works with SRT subtitles natively, but Plex is the best movie player.
Thanks for all

The srt23Dass tool only works with Windows operating system.
I have found a way to add HSBS 3D subtitles utilizing the .ass format. If you follow these directions (http://www.networked…d.php?tid=47904), you will have subtitles that work with 3D movie files. Their claim is that it only works for .mkv and .mkv3d but I utilize the properly named .ass file matched with an .mp4 file (eg. Avatar (2009) .ass matched to Avatar (2009) .mp4) and they do actually work. I basically follow the directions using the srt23Dass tool to create the .ass file, ignoring the muxing step, and add the file to the movie folder. You will need Free File Viewer (http://www.freefilev…ownloading.html) to view the .ass file text. The only drawback I see is that it will cause Plex to transcode the 3D movie. But it just works and is the only way I know to have working subtitles for HSBS 3D movies.
@mjbxx I’ve looked at this solution too, but it’s too much work. Especially if you, like me, have a Mac.
I’d really like for Plex to take the SRT I already have attached to the movie and split + offset the subtitles to get them to display properly with a SBS file.
Understood. It looks to be a Windows only tool. However, it does not take much in the way of time to do and it does the job quite well in rendering 3D subtitles.
would like to see this function as well
i’ve found a nice command line tool to convert srt subtiltes to 3d ass, which works for linux and mac.

At least, I would like to get a proper support of .ass/.ssa files. Today, even with burned subtitles, .ass files are not rendered correctly. For exemple , for a 3D file, the left and right side subtitles don’t appear simultaneously.
I am seeing this same issue posted under several different topics; i.e., .ass/.ssa subtitle files are not rendered properly where the right subtitle displays a second or more before the left subtitle. This used to work (at least for me) but now does not.
