There are lots of 1440p and 1600p devices out there that are aging. Plex is a great way to spring new life into them.
Like my Samsung oled tablets. They’re still stunning to watch movies on.
They won’t do x265 or 4k h264. Why not add 1440p as a possible transcoder option? It would give more people a reason to use Plex to watch newer content on these older devices. By using 1440p h264 on them you get both the best quality and hardware decoding (on the client) which unlocks smooth playback.
