Same problem for me. I’m waiting for some time now for HW Transcoding on AMD APU/GPU’s. Yes i have plex-pass and i own a Ryzen based server. Hopefully they’ll add the support soon.

Yeah, there are alternatives, but for many Plex is the media server of choice. It should just work and use the HW capabilities exposed by VAAPI. Works great even for HEVC. [Screenshot_92]

“Should work” and “does work” are two alternate universes for Plex. They use some flea-bitten custom-cobbled broken fork of FFmpeg. Hardware acceleration in main branch FFmpeg in Windows and Linux for AMD graphics hardware works flawlessly. But as for Plex? It’s a dumpster fire.
