Dear Plex Support and Development Team,
I am a long-time user and a big fan of Plex. I am writing to formally request a feature enhancement for the Plex app on LG webOS.
Currently, many LG TVs come with the “LG Magic Remote.” This remote features a minimalist design that includes four colored function buttons (Red, Green, Yellow, Blue), but it lacks dedicated physical Play and Pause buttons.
Because of this hardware limitation, controlling playback in the Plex app can be quite inconvenient. Every time I want to pause or resume a video, I have to bring up the on-screen UI overlay first, which disrupts the viewing experience.
To solve this issue, I would love to see a feature that allows users to customize or map remote control buttons within the LG webOS Plex app.
Specifically, it would be incredibly helpful if we could assign the Play/Pause function to one of the colored buttons (Red, Green, Yellow, or Blue) that are currently underutilized.
Implementing this custom button mapping would significantly improve the user experience for millions of LG TV users who rely on the Magic Remote.
