[FEATURE REQUEST] Allow parameter to bind plex server to specific network interface

Hello,
I run openvpn client on my NAS. As i 've read countless threads there after searching, looks like this is still an issue.

For Plex Devs:::

Please allow the ability to define the network interface plex should bind to. I run OpenVPN on my Synology NAS. The nas also runs the vpn client. When the VPN is connected, plex remote access stops working as i can see that its trying to setup a remote connection via the VPN IP/interface instead of going out the regular LAN interface. Sure it can be somewhat temporarily rectified by adding static routes, but thats not a clean solution.

Thanks.

EDIT. not sure where there is no edit option to correct a mistake.

Anyways, i wanted to correct in saying that the " NAS also runs the plex server".

I have a server (Dell R620 / ububtu 14.04) that is primary job is a openstack compute node and secondly my plex server. It has plenty of CPU power to perform the functions however the 1st interface is for the backend openstack mgmt network and the second interface is for outside network connectivity. I have forced the default route to use the second interface but plex still used the mgmt network to get outside. This works but it is a double nat configuration. This is an issue for plex. Can we please have a way to set it even if there is an xml file I can edit.

Thanks again

Christmas has come early ! The feature of allowing the user to select a specific network interface is now available as from Plex Media Server version 1.13.5.5291 which was released to Plex Pass beta yesterday
