The mobile photo app needs the ability to upload/ [mod-edit: duplicate, see below] download pictures to and from your phone. That way you can share them via whatever method you want i.e. text, social media, etc. You could also allow family members to add photos via upload and transfer your own photos to your server.
There’s already an existing feature suggestion focusing on uploading pictures to a photo library. Therefore, let’s focus this one on the download and sharing aspects you’ve mentioned. Please comment/vote in the other thread with regard to the upload functionality (also, don’t forget to vote for your own suggestion!).
Sure that’s fair. So as far as downloading goes, clearly you’re essentially already downloading it because you can view it. It would be nice to be able to do something from that point. Even if you can’t directly pipe it to messages or Facebook or insert app of choice here, just being able to download it to your phone would suffice. That way you can then do what you want with it.
Also I did comment on the suggested thread, but I have no vote button for that thread.

I thought this worked at one point but it doesn’t seem to anymore. the real good thing with this would be that you can share any photo from the photos app to any other app that is installed. many app do this with files ect.. should not be that complicated to do and it will make it a real great app, at it stands right now it is really a bit anoying.
