Feature request: audio sync adjustment for Android TV Plex app on NVIDIA Shield

Server Version#: 1.32.6.7468 (same version on both servers, QNAP NAS and Synology NAS)
Player Version#: 9.31.0.3817 (on NVIDIA Shield TV Pro 2019), HDMI audio passthrough

Hello!

I’ve been using NVIDIA Shields with Plex (as a client) for about five years now. I rarely experience issues; there was a weird video stutter problem I had with specific content (my only other posted topic in these forums it seems)…which was resolved several years ago (collab between NVIDIA and Plex staff I believe).

I do experience one persistent challenge, and that’s with AV sync for music video concerts (remuxed from BD and DVD, to MKV containers). I’ve created hundreds of these. For many (but not all), the AV sync is off. I never have this issue with movies nor TV shows. I also don’t think it has anything to do with Plex, as I can reproduce with other players.

Recently, I purchased an Apple TV 4K Gen 3…and of course had to try Plex on it. I decided to give one of my concerts a whirl, and in the playback settings I was amazed to see an audio sync adjustment feature…forwards/backwards in 25ms increments. Rejoice! It’s not “perfect,” because the sync is “global” and not specific to the content being played…but better than nothing.

This audio sync adjustment feature is nowhere to be found within Plex on Android TV, and I sure would like to have it on my Shield!

The Shield does have a global AV sync adjustment in the advanced sound settings, but that is perfectly in sync on my setup. It also can only be adjusted for more delay…not “forward.”

Having this granular audio sync feature available during playback on Android TV/Shield would be wonderful.
