While I mostly archive most of my movie collection, I don't necessarily want to archive every episode of every show my family watches. Many people want/have their setup automated as do I. Content acquisition is easily automated by recording the TV, encoding them and added to correct folders, which Plex can automatically read and add to the library. But there are no ways to delete them automatically based on Plex's watched statues. I'd love to see auto delete function to PMS. Of course it should have various options and specifics condition settings for auto-deletion. Something like this:
1. Plex monitors everyone's (friend share and/or Home share) watch statues and if a content is watched by everyone, only then it will be checked for various conditions. Optionally admin can set amount of days to override the watched statues. Say admin sets 365 days, if the content hasn't been accessed by some viewers but it sat there for a whole year, it we become "deletion candidate" regardless of watched status.
2. Plex checks to see if the content is star-rated by any one of the viewers. (If the entire show is rated, episodes follow the rating of the show.)
3. If they are rated and any one of those rating is higher than pre-set amount stars (configurable by admin), it will be exempt from auto-deletion. If they are not rated by any viewers, it is marked as "deletion candidate"
4. Any content marked "deletion candidate" will remain undeleted until set amount of days (configurable by admin) and will be deleted after that day has passed. Additionally they will be shown in a section of the web UI where Admin easily view all the deletion candidates and over-ride deletion or force immediate deletion at any given time.
5. These rules can optionally be applied/exempted (by option to "archive" at any given time so that admin doesn't need to monitor contents to prevent certain contents being deleted in the future).
Any of these can, of course, be over-ridden by the admin at any given time.
Side note: Suggestion above heavily relies on the condition that viewers actually utilizing the rating system of Plex, which at the moment seem a bit out of the way. Something like rating pop-up after watching the content (optionally enabled/disabled) would help but that's not the main subject of this request.
