Feature Request: Better channel mapping / open channel mapping

The channel mapping is not user-friendly. So if your provider is not in the list, you can’t map all the channels and if your privider is listed, you can’t map it with the offered names.

  • don’t reduce the channels from beginning to a local privider
  • offer just filter to reduce the list of channels
  • add searchbox
  • use the full channel name to map the channels

At the moment it’s impossible to map my Astra/Eutelsat channels in Plex.

We aren’t supporting satellite yet, which is definitely something we want to add. We do support XMLTV however, so you can go around our mapping using that if desired.

It’s not only a problem of SAT TV. If you have a local provider with 400 channels you will never find all the mappings without filters or search. It’s also impossible to made a right mapping if your provider will not be listed.

If your provider isn’t listed, that’s something we should be aware about and Gracenote should be informed, so they can get it added.

I agree we do need filtering, but I’d like to solve the problems of the metadata as well.

Not all like to map a hole provider. Some user would only map the used channels. And if you use a other listed provider to map channels its not possible to see, what channel behind the shored description. It’s not possible to map in example the channels from sky Germany manually .
