Strong vote for me! Just Bring the PODCAST back, as-is… add a banner at the top of the interface saying something like “no further development of PODCAST is on the roadmap at this time…” I’m just looking for an RSS FEED AGGREGATOR to manage my podcasts because I’m just not into switching from one podcast app to the other. I’ll try to find out if I can go far enough in this use case using GOOGLE PODCAST meanwhile, hoping I won’t have to search for yet another podcast app…

Currently evaluating replacement options for this feature and am coming up empty. Would really like to see this feature come back.

I don’t understand. I currently use Podcast Addict but have used others in the past. There are a ton of good podcast players. Why are you coming up empty? What is it you’re looking for that such podcast players don’t already offer?
I agree, having a Plex server with which I can download podcasts to and play podcasts on various clients keeping my spot in the various different podcasts I listen to would be ideal, but only if the player clients were decent but they weren’t.
Please stop putting all of Plex’ resource eggs into a feeble attempt to become a Crackle-y provider of shiite. Just bring podcasts back; that feature was one of the only reasons I ever used plexamp.

Podcasts are the only reason I switch media app for my audio streams. It is PlexAmp all the way - on my phone, desktop, and raspberry pi headless. IF only… the podcasts would be brought back - even if it is just in PlexAmp as a separate menu (which means it is locked behind the plexpass), it would be tremendous feature.
With PlexAmp, you can set the Podcasts to download on the Server (with play status/position saved), and possibility of setting automatic downloads of episodes (from the server) to the PlexAmp device (with option to automatically delete). - the same function could even be applied to Audio Books (except of course, the subscription management).
I wish Plex would bring back Podcast plugin feature. Anyone else miss it?
For the love of god, the dumbest decision made by Plex was to forcefully sunset the Podcasts feature. You should have just taken down any support for metadata/scanning. Bring back this feature for local media and manual metadata PLEASE!!!
I have just started collecting podcasts and some of them are audio only, now I have this ridiculous setup of Podcast-Audio and Podcast-Video pointing to the same folder because I do not wish to manually separate EVERYTHING just to appease the Plex Gods and their narcissistic feature sets.
We the people have spoken over the past decade - I’ve looked it up - there are TONS of closed/archived posts about this.
All I need is a library type that can simply show me a folder structure with both audio and video - I care nothing for the media scanning capabilities. I just wish to have a single library for Podcasts because such things by definition can be audio or video.
Bring it back without metadata scanning!!
