Provide a configuration option and feature to exclude network interfaces from Plex Media Server. This will allow for a more consistent configuration when servers have multiple NICs and/or VLAN interfaces.
Perhaps this should be combined with this request
https://forums.plex.tv/topic/91171-add-linux-xml-option-to-bind-to-single-interface/
But despite it being a very old request it only has support of 3 users
May be there is another request - i can't believe we don't have one when we have loads of forum topics relating to issues with multiple NICs, May be someone else will find the right feature request topic to combine this into
I’d be totally down for this. This would be great if I wanted to have multiple network adapters (like I currently do).
Would love this feature
Would love this feature too.
There are dozens of variations of this request. From all I’ve read, this should be a no-brainer to implement.
PLEASE IMPLEMENT IT!
100% agree. No-brainer. The inability to bind plex to a specific NIC is pretty annoying.
Implement it, please!
Christmas has come early ! The feature of allowing the user to select a specific network interface is now available as from Plex Media Server version 1.13.5.5291 which was released to Plex Pass beta yesterday
See Release Note Plex Media Server
- Allow picking a specific network address to bind to (#8492)
Details of the new Advanced Network server setting can be found on this support article https://support.plex.tv/articles/200430283-network/
Please pay attention to the associated notes
Since implimented, this thread is now closed
