[FEATURE REQUEST] Bind to specific IP

A few requests.

1) I know it's been requested before. It would be great if you could make Plex bind to a specific IP interface on Windows.  I've tried a util named ForceBindIP but found it to be funky and ureliable.  I would like to bind Plex to my wireless card on a second LAN so that it stays off our corporate LAN via the ethernet NIC. We now get around it by launching a Virtualbox VM that is bound only to the private NIC on the host.  But this is the long way around and would be much simpler to run it on the host bound to a specific NIC.

2) The controls on the IOS client seem awfully darn small, I am forever hitting the wrong control by accident. I would like t see them a little bigger or at least spaced out some.  Moved to a seperate request.

I think these need to be separate requests (in separate posts) so people can vote on them.

Moved from original post

And hwile I'm at it request #3

#3)  A RANDOM sort order in the playlist sort order so I can save a random playlist.  I kust want to play random tracks.  Now I save a playlist of all tracks and open it in a clinet and then select shuffle, be much simpler if it was random to begin with and I could just open it and play.  It seems that the RATING sort order now does this since none of my music HAS any ratings, although once I start rating my music that will change.

Not being able to bind to a specific interface is making plex unusable for me too :/.

The comment about separate posts means in SEPARATE THREADS so discussions of each item can take place in the thread and not have confusion. As in having separate titles, and each having their own discussion…

As it is now, there could be discussion on all three topics, but unless someone quotes and then quotes and then quotes no one really knows what’s being discussed and it makes the thread hard to follow.

I also need this. plex tries to bind to wrong network adapter and IP Address on my lan

Would love this feature!!

Same here, Plex binds to wrong interface (WiFi instead of LAN), as a result I cannot access it remotely

Many users are unaware of PMS’s limitation to not support more than one NIC, and as a consequence run into all sorts of trouble (saying that PMS no longer works after upgrade, does not loads metadata, etc etc). So, even if multi-NIC support might not be needed for performance reasons, it certainly is a MUST to avoid problems. Servers and NAS with multiple NIC’s are common these days and users cannot resist the “temptation” to use more than one NIC.

This is also a significant cause of user unsatisfaction, that may prevent new users from adopting Plex. At least 15% of the problems reported last month in the QNAP subforum (or via PM) were related with users with more than one NIC connected not being able to use Plex properly.

There are dozens of variations of this request. From all I’ve read, this should be a no-brainer to implement.

PLEASE IMPLEMENT IT!

Please implement this, my plex streams out through one isp and in through the other instead of using the lan because I can not tell it which NIC to bind to.
