Both Kodi and Emby let you configure the threshold that marks a video as “watched”. I watch a lot of Internet videos that don’t have credits and are frustrated when I leave off near the end and have to fast forward to my position.
Agree! Even movies with credits sometimes lose my place if I leave a few minutes before the credits. And since there’s no “loop around” rewind, you can’t rewind from the end - the only option is to scroll through the whole movie and hope you don’t go too far.
It doesn’t need to be configurable necessarily, an “close to the end” but not “at the end” window might deserve a “mark watched?” dialogue where you could answer “no, not done yet”.
Ah yes this would be really helpful. I recently had this happen- I received an important phone call at about minute 50 of a 60 minute episode, paused, and after my call I came back and it had timed out and marked the entire episode as watched, so I had to fast forward from 0:00, which is still pretty painful on the Android TV interface.
