Feature Request - Copy and move rules in smart playlists

I have a few large playlists that have a lot of filters on them. For instance, I have a playlist that shows all the movies from several actors, studios, and franchises. It’s my bit “Watchlist” The only problem is that sometimes i want to make a change like move a selection of rules into their own group. Currently, this means I have to create a new group, then recreate all the rules in question, then delete all the old ones. Being able to drag and drop, or check boxes to move different rules would be a huge benefit.

This would also help for times when I start a smart playlist, then save it before I’m done so I can come back, only to find that I have to start over because saving removes any “unnecessary” groups.

There is a workaround for this. Edit filters for the existing smart collection, make changes and instead of updating it, you can simply save it as a new smart collection.

This suggestion is about copying/moving rules within an existing smart playlist/collection – not about copying the smart collection/playlist itself.

If you want to copy an entire smart playlist/collection, your workaround is indeed the best way to go.

As Tom80H said.

There are times when I’m working on a smart playlist, and I realize that I need to nest a group of rules I’ve already made under another rule group, or move a group of rules out of another group.

Currently this involves recreating every rule I need to move when it could be set up to drag and drop rules in and out of groups

You’re right. I didn’t read your post right. You want to be able to copy/duplicate within the smart collection you are currently working on. This is not possible with the workaround I posted earlier.
