Currently to schedule a recording of a show it needs to exist in the EPG. You click it and then tell it to record. I’d like to be able to set a rule about what to record that isn’t specific to particular shows. For example “record all shows with ‘Olympics’ in title” which could trigger several different series “Primetime Olympics”, “Olympic Review”, “Daytime Olympic recap” etc. Also it would be useful for telling it to record shows that aren’t set to air in the next two weeks. For example if I set a rule “Record all episodes of the Amazing Race” then I don’t need to know when the season is starting to schedule the series to record
I’d like to be able to record specific channels with a start/end time without having anything to do with EPG. This would be ala VCR recording where I’d specify a channel and start/stop time, and whatever happens to be on that channel at that time gets recorded.
