Two people on the same server (initially) and later across different plex servers, via some means (code linking or something, one supplies the code the other applies it) “links” their accounts together temporarily, or more permanently. This enables a feature called “Date night” where they can watch the same movie or show, and Plex will sync the streams so that they can watch it together.
One of my users travels, and him and his partner watches movies togher while on video calls. They asked if this was something that could maybe be done?
Totally un-plex example - recently on a long haul flight with my partner, my in flight system had a faulty headphone jack. We both watched a movie with a splitter audio adapter in her system - a carefully timed press of both play buttons was good enough.
If they are both on Plex and hit play at the same time it will be close enough to discuss it as they watch it, nifty idea but I would rather see the devs working on more beneficial features
