This has already been reported as bug, but there was no reply from PLEX side and I am not sure whether labeling this as bug is correct. For me it is more like a feature request.
The PLEX client on webOS already disables the webOS screensaver for videos, so I think it is easy to do.
I think PLEX should also disable the screensaver for photo slideshow WHILE PLAYING ONLY. It should re-enable the screensaver whenever the slideshow is stopped, to protect the OLED monitor.
If you are worried about burn-in risk for your customers, you could make them approve a “I know what I am doing” dialog.
I think PLEX is a great software and I am willing to pay for it. Besides some ways to improve it, it certainly has a lot to offer.
