Feature Request: Estimate Time to Complete Download

With the current way the download feature works (very slowly), it would be great to have an estimated time to download countdown included with the approximate download speed. This way we would be able to gauge when the download should be completed to help with additional planning.

I like this feature too. Maybe put it on this position on the mobile client?

Please modify the download status notification - the percent compete bar is almost entirely useless. It doesn’t show bytes received/remaining, doesn’t show a percentage or an ETA.

I am stuck on a slow connection and it would be very nice to know how long it will take for the download to complete. Right now I use

tail - f /var/log/plex.log | awk '/Media download/ {print $14}`

to see a ghetto progress report. Plex app orange bar shows around 95% for this current show download, and when I watch the server logs its actually at 23%, got another 45 minutes to go until its here. The app progress bar would have me believe it’s almost complete, though.

If I leave the house now I won’t get to see that episode. With a properly working progress bar, and additional information, I could make a choice as to whether to wait for the episode to download, or leave now, do without, and let it download later.

I’m in a small town and there’s only very slow ADSL available. This wasn’t a high concern at my previous location with 100Mbit fibre, but it’s been a huge pain here.

Edit: I’m now downloading a different show. Plex app progress bar says 50% 1/2 episodes. Server logs say 18% complete on the first episode only.. Whatever the bar is currently measuring is not accurate or useful .
