Most people don’t have the money for older Xeons or a new Threadripper for video transcoding streams, but I bet most people have a spare old GPU laying around that would make old gaming computers excellent Plex servers. Why hasn’t Plex implemented CUDA transcoding support?
If I only ever get one single update this entire year I would want it to be GPU Transcoding!

Good to know! It doesn’t have a good description in Plex. I assumed it would just pick a format that works with hardware accelerated decoding only. Thanks for linking the article!
Actually it doesn’t.
Plex only encode from the gpu…it doesn’t decode… for hw decode / encode just with intelsync compatible intel cpu…
