I have shows in my Plex library that I don’t want to keep forever, but I would like them to hang around for a month or two in case I get the chance to watch them, and after I do watch them, I’d like to give my other users more than 7 days to watch them too.
Please provide more granular options for these two settings:
Make these completely user configurable. Let us specify episode count or age in days from a dropdown, and then provide an input field of a number for “Keep unwatched.” Do the same thing for “Delete watched.”
As a secondary request, please update the language in the UI to disambiguate the effective difference and/or intent between differentiating these two settings. For example: Will the “Keep unwatched” setting also delete watched episodes or not? Is “Keep only episodes I’ve watched” a common use case?

Set the maximum number of unwatched episodes to keep for the show.
Delete episodes after watching
Choose how quickly episodes are removed after the server admin has watched them.
Just to bump this suggestion, and also add to it - “Keep Latest Season” to keep all the episodes from the last season of a show, and remove previous seasons
Hi, i thought it would be good to have one more time setting for “Delete episode after playing”, 2 weeks.
Since most tv shows are weekly, to bridge the gap of the episode/show disappearing completely (although for a short time).
Instead of just the options for “Delete Episodes After Playing” to only include:
Never
After a day
After a week
On next refresh
Allow users to specify a number of days > 0. This could actually replace the two middle options (After a day, After a week) since you could specify with the variable “1” or “7” in their place. The “Never” and “On next refresh” options are great and should stay as is.
In many cases I’d like to keep watched items around for longer than a week, but maybe less than 30-60 days, but I can’t “automatically” have them deleted in that time frame.
I would like to have more option on how many episodes to keep of recored TV.
an option such as keep XX and you select how many to keep rather than just the current selections
I’m not sure I understand what you’re asking for… do you want to manually set a custom number of episodes to keep (instead of selecting one of the available options)?
That’s how it reads to me. And I would also have liked this as a feature. Because the current system is so limited that it’s only useful if you have very limited storage space.

Rather than the options they give you…
I would like to add on to this and request to also have the option to delete partially watched episodes. For example, I record the evening news daily, sometimes I may only watch half of it, but when the new one comes out, I still want to keep only the latest episode. It seems the partials just hang around until manually deleted.
