According to the Local Media Assets docs you can include posters and fanart (background images) with your movie. But what about scanned images of any booklet inserts?
The Criterion Collection is famous for having really nice, in-depth booklets along with their discs. I’d love to be able to scan the pages in and have them available with the movie when viewing the movie’s detail page (along with all any supplementary content, behind-the-scenes, deleted scenes, etc.).
Plex could even build up a catalog of high quality, scanned booklets in a database somewhere and automatically include them when a movie match is found! Although maybe this could run afoul of copyright restrictions…
Thanks for all the hard work Plex team, I love this software!
I would love this feature also. If you buy blu-rays from Arrow Video, they have access to a lot of PDF booklets for free on their website, and this would be a nice supplement to my Arrow Video collection on Plex.
Interesting idea. The doctor who Blu-ray’s contain detailed booklets containing detail around the production of each story. Havi5 these available through plex would be great
There’s another feature suggestion thread discussing the addition of such additional local media assets. The title of the suggestion is focusing on “liner notes” but the suggestion is covering all areas (front, back, booklet…).
I suggest you comment/vote in that thread in order to avoid distracting votes and attention by too many threads on the same topics. Unless I’m missing some unique aspect, I’ll go ahead and delete this thread as a duplicate.
