DVD/Blu-Ray Movie Database Library in PLEX

Hi, I was wondering, if PLEX would add, a ‘DVD/Blu-Ray’ movie database section, to add your personal collection of Movies, TV Series, Boxsets, just for your personal reference?.

This can be done by either Barcode scanning or insering the code in the PLEX App. You would then have, all your Media Library in one dedicated place.

It would be nice if this can be incorporated within PLEX.

Any thoughts?

Some of you, like me, have over a thousand titles to bring into Plex. At least it looks that way to me from the little I’ve seen in the forums and elsewhere. Mine is going to take me a year (or three) to fully copy to hard disk from its original optical storage. I simply don’t have the time to do it all in one go. I’ve got it on iOS and the Mac. Works well. The bar code scanning is really good. Makes quick work of adding to your collection.

You might try this. Create a movie library such as “physical media” in Plex. In the movie folder that Plex is monitoring, drop a small sample MKV file with the correctly formatted movie name for the file name. Plex should be able to find it and add it to your library.

If you want the correct Video and Audio formats to be displayed in the movie info, your sample MKV file would need to be of that type.
