I would really like to see Music files included in the Now Playing area when they are streaming, along with the videos that currently work there. I have a fair bit of original music on my server, and I'd really like to know what of it is being listened to, if possible. Thanks for your consideration.
me too!! …i put my play music on shuffle and run into a great song i didnt know I had…I would love to got back to recently played to get that info
Music tracks do appear in Now Playing. If it isn’t working for you, then troubleshooting is in order. I’m not sure how to troubleshoot this, but it wouldn’t hurt if you posted the log files from your server after this situation occurs. Plus, if you know the track that was played, the xml info for the track might be useful.
To get log files, in Plex Web go to Settings > Server > Help.
To get xml info for the track, find the track in your library, click on the ‘…’ overflow menu that appears when you hover on the track. Select ‘Get Info’ from the menu that appears, and select ‘View XML’ in the information box that appears. Save the xml info to a text file and attach it to this thread along with the log files.

If you need a history of played media, install PlexPy on your server.
