I am a PlexPass user and have been using Plex for over a year now and really like the new updates! Thank you for all the hard work. I would like to request a feature to allow users to change the playback speed. It would be nice to be able to increase or decrease playback speed by .25x (as VLC player supports). I would like to sync my school lecture videos on plex but cannot because I am unable to speed them up. Thank you for considering this feature request.

I've been wanting this for a while too. Came across your post after looking around today to see if anyone made a variable speed playback plugin but looks like not.

Please this. For educational videos like my The Great Courses collection I would LOVE to be able to speed up the videos (other lectures, presentations, audiobooks, etc too). Plex is Amazing for video lectures because of how it saves playback position and which video file you are on in a series but not being able to control speed sucks. This is standard on many media players and I think is much needed in Plex. I think this is the number one thing I'd like to see.

I'd like this feature too. Especially to watch old movies, slow movies, and lectures for online courses. But the increments should be by .10x, not .25x, because it really depends on the movie.
Add me to the list. I'm always using that feature in VLC in .1 increments and I'd love to be able to do it with Plex's internal player,
Would love this for audiobooks as well as for video. From experience audio can go to about 3x and still be usable - but the increments need only be 0.5X, 0.25X at most.
For video I'd imagine 0.1X increments would be good for correction. For video slo-mo would be good too - especially for visual learning video - techniques, detail, etc.
+1. This is pretty huge - especially for viewing training content/lectures/etc.
