[Feature Request] Kids-In-Mind Rating System

Please add the Kids-In-Mind Moving Rating System inside Plex. Our family and friends use this for every movie we watch. Thanks.

+1 this idea, but know that it will likely mean a two-way collaboration between kids in mind (/commonsensemedia) and the Internet community, mostly to open the data up through an API.
Hopefully they find this as something to allow them to help more people while still retaining control over the ratings.

Checking the ratings has saved a couple of uncomfortable moments (each Indiana jones movie has at least one scene that is not a good idea for the youngest, and which I completely forgot about... 80s PG, you're so hardcore)

I'll second that as well.  CommonSenseMedia is a great resource for parents -- would love to see that as part of the descriptions -- and possibly integrated with any future parental controls as well.  Thanks for all of the great work, Plex folks!

Even better, if we had parental controls, we could use them and change the ratings ourselves to what it is in our family.  80s PG is really PG-13 by today's standards, for example.

This would be a great improvement. In the Netherlands, they have additional markings besides the age rating for specific subjects (Violence, Language, Substance abuse, Sex, Racism, Fear) which is a good addition to just a simple age rating. It is a good indication if a movie fits our style of parenting and the individual kids (my daughter is much braver than my son). It would be great to be able to add that kind of info to the Plex database.

Integration of commonsensemedia.org is a different suggestion and was recently announced to be implemented later in 2025.
